I am getting a lot of headaches from listening to Metallica. My favorite song so far which is the one of five that I have listend to is Enter Sandman. I find that it is good to listen to Metallica in the mouning to wake me up.
Good that it is rousing music, bad that it gives you headaches. Try listening to it at a low volume, not listening to too much at a time and balancing it with I don't know... Budhist prayers? Lullabies? Sounds of waves or rain falling? If it actually gives you a headache though maybe you should switch. I know that if I listened to my music for a long period of time on high volume I would definitely get a headache, so try taking it in small doses. But I have never listened to Metallica either, so it might just give you a headache no matter what you do.
Hi Spencer! Amelia has some good ideas for getting rid of the headaches . . . when I did heavy rock for a stretch project, it made me feel sort of stressed out (similar to getting a headache, maybe?). I'm glad that it's helping you wake up, though!! How is Metallica different from the music you usually listen to?
Metallica was formed in 1981 in los angeles by the guitarist asking posting an add in the la times for band members. In my mind it is hard to belive that a band that famous was formed by an add in the paper. There number one hit, which came out in 1991 was called One. One has sold 1.2 million copies since it came out.
switserlandeo Yes master of puppets is by metallica. That song is the one that gives me the most headaches. master of puppets is a very angrey song after i listen to the first 30 seconds I switch to another sond
What instruments are in metallica? Master of Puppets reminds me of that scary guy in pinnchio that locks the puppet in the bird cage... but that's not important. Are there other albums by Metallica that don't give you headaches? You should look into that. Have Fun.
Some of the songs that I have bought by metallica are more rock and I can appreciate the guitar work. Though there are others like Master the Puppets and Enter Sandman that give me headaches. Over all I like more of my music than not like it.
Hi Spencer, which Metallica song will you play for us? It was cool listening to "The Day That Never Comes" from Charlie this week. I wonder if you'll play something that's more intense. I haven't listened to Metallica in a long time, but that song reminded me that they have a lot of music that isn't very heavy. The guitar work IS amazing, isn't it?
The double-dose of Metallica was pretty thrilling a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed Master of Puppets, Spencer, especially the slow section. Where are you now??
Master of Puppets was kind of... Well, creepy, to be honest. I guess it is kind of a protest song... Do you know what the religions and politics of Metallica are? That would give me some more insight into the emotions behind the song... It is interesting how people think of heavy metal as super tough (not tuff) and unemotional, when it is really just the opposite! Because if they are playing that loudly and yelling stuff that harshly, it must be because they are REALLY angry, or in a lot of pain, or really sad or depressed or something. It is interesting...
Spencer, you are now back from California. I felt you should be informed of this, in case you were at all confused as to why it feels like you just stepped out of the real world and into an dreary old-fashioned black and white film.
I Showed my parents metallica and they could not stand it and told me to stop playing it for them after just one song called Enter Sandman they told me to shut it off. Metallica has not been as miserable as I thought it would be mainly because there is alot of deep emotion behind the song. I feel like in every song that they are trying to say something, but I just cant figure out what. I thought that sharing Master the Puppets was a good choice because it is the mascot song of Metallica. At least from what I have heard. The day that never comes the one Charlie played for us as a listening example is in my top ten list of favorite songs. In that song the guitar work is so advanced that it distracts me from the loudness that is usully in metallica.
Metallica is very different than the music I listen to. I listen to hip hop/pop, which in my opinion has more refined vocies. Metallica is mostly the instruments that are most heard in the song. In hip hop the singing is what is mostly heard.
Another song by metallica that I find good is one. It has a very simmilar feel to the day that never comes except it is a much longer song it is 9 minutes. They both have more of a rockish tone instead of a heavy metal tune. I also found out that one is a protest song. The music video is very strange it is in black and white and all it shows is the guitarist of metallica playing his guitar.
Hi Spencer, it's too bad that your parents didn't like Metallica! I think it's great that you've been able to find stuff about their music that you really enjoy. I want to do Metallica as a stretch at some point, too. You offer some really interesting insights here!
Hannah I am listening to Mettalica.
