  1. Interesting, I haven't heard of them either. I am really behind in music, aren't I? How shameful, considering my father DJ's. What genre are they? Are you enjoying them? Please come join the blog, we are missing you!

  2. Amelia it isn't that shameful that you're father is a DJ and that you don't seem to know a lot of artists (on the contrary, you seem to know a lot of music) Anyways...I haven't heard much of cheap trick either, but I have listened to 30 sec. clips of it on iTunes. They seem pretty good, and they sound sorta electrical - and they've published a WHOLE LOT of albums.

  3. Hey
The album is their top songs. I think that their songs are really funny and good rocken out kind of song. I have herd some of their songs before now but did not know who they were by so now I am like whao I know these people when I hear them other places. Rock band is were I got the name of the band finally.

  4. cheap Trick is great but some of the songs are kind of creapy. They get the crowed all pumped up by saying funny things at the start of their live songs.

  5. people are listening to really different kinds of music this time. It is kind of interesting.

  6. How many people are in Cheap Trick?
Is it mainly male players? both boys and girls? Just girls? Dogs?
Maybe not Dogs. If you say that it's dogs I will be very surprised.
So Cheap Trick is a Rock'n band... Do you like them?

  7. Hey
    there are 4.

-Robin Zander (lead vocals, rhythm guitar)

-Rick Nielsen (lead guitar, backing vocals)

-Tom Petersson (bass guitar, backing vocals)

    -Bun E. Carlos (drums, percussion).

RANDOM FACT They are known for playing strange guitars and basses. Witch I would agree with.

  8. Hi Sarah, good to read your thoughts so far! I'm looking forward to hearing Cheap Trick tomorrow. I have a feeling I'll have a similar experience to you and be like, oh THAT'S the name of that band. I've heard of them & I've probably heard their music, but I can't connect their name in their music in mind. . . if that makes sense!

    ReplyDelete
  9. yes
that does make sense and I do the same thing. It is funny when I am playing the radio and I hear a song and then they say who sings it and sometimes I am like wow that is neat I did not realize that they wrote that. so people should listen to the radio more often, that is were I learn some new songs if I have not herd them in class of from friends or something.

  10. Oh yeah
my music is great It is still very odd but I think I have learned most of the words to like all of their songs that I have by now. They have subjects in their songs like most artists and they are not alike at all how do people come up with these things. Most songs are about love now so it is nice to hear something else. yeah their interesting.

  11. Cheap Trick writes their own songs, right? (I'm getting this from Maddy) if your music was any kind of animal, what would it be? I'm interested. Or it can be a person you know - or some kind of supernatural, immortal character - like a vampire (ha ha) for instance.

  14. You may be interested in Supertramp, another 70s powerband that is similar to Cheap Trick. Supertramp though has a few more "intellectual" songs, ones that examine and reflect upon the oddities of life; try "The Logical Song" for an idea of the later.

  15. Thank you mark that looks interesting. cadence I think I would see them as a leopard or something for an animal but if it were a magical thing it would be a ware wolf. I don't know if there is a space in there or not but you get the point.

  16. What's your favorite song on your album?
Is it the Dream Police or something different?
If your music was some form of transportation what would it me? Ex. train, plane, boat, bike... you know what I mean.
    Your music sounds really cool.
    Have fun listening to it.

  17. Can I move that incredibly long post to MY comments, and delete it from yours? I am going to try to...

  18. Thanks Cadence for saying that I know a lot of music and that it isn't shameful...
And I am glad you like Cheap Trick Sarah, even if some of the songs are kind of creepy...

That is all I meant to say. Hannah, can you please delete the rest of the comment? I can't figure out how to...

  19. I like the song Dream Police, Sarah. Good pick for your stretch project listening example. (no pun intended) but it did kind of sounded dreamy, if you know what I mean, with the chorus of "Dream Police" I really like it. And by the way you're welcome Amelia. Hmm...werewolf, leopard...I can kind of imagine the Dream Police band as a leopard, but not really a werewolf. But then again you know the band way better than I do, so never mind. For some reason, whenever I think of the Dream Police, the name, I think of the artist Perry Farell...he's the guy who sings that song called "Go Into the Way Into Twilight" in the twilight album. I don't know. It just kinda does.

  20. Hey
maddy um they would be a bike thing with lots of seats like for each one. I do not know what it is called but you get it. I do not have a real favorite but I like the DREAM POLICE and IF YOU WANT MY LOVE YOU GOT IT. yeah just wanted to make them stand out because I do not know how to make them in italics if you even can do it on here. I think that all of their songs have mostly the same instruments but as I said before they have a few strange guitars in some songs. The lyrics....... well you can guess from the title of the song and you have her the dream police any way. these are the if you want my love lyrics
    Ah. ___
    Ah. ___

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
    I wont hide it.
I wont throw your love away, oo.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
    I wont hide it.
I wont throw your love away, oo.

Yes, I thought you were a mystery girl,
A special girl in this crazy old world.
You couldnt see me when I laid eyes on you.

cause lonely is only a place.
You dont know what its like...
    You cant fight it.
Its a hole in my heart, in my heart.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
    I wont hide it.
I wont throw your love away, oo.

You hold the secrets of love in this world.
Im hypnotized by your evry word.
A special face, a special voice,
A special smile in my life.

cause lonely is only a place.
You dont know what its like...
    You cant fight it.
Its a hole in my heart, in my heart.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
    I wont hide it.
I wont throw your love away, ooh.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
    I wont hide it.
I wont throw your love away, ooh.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
    You wont hide it.
You wont throw your love away, ooh.

  21. Hi Sarah, I enjoyed "Dream Police" last week! I totally recognize the sound of Cheap Trick, though I hadn't heard that song before. Yay! Now I finally understand what you're listening to.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I have no Idea how they come up with the words for their songs. so wierd.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That's sooooooo handy that you posted the lyrics. Now I don't have to look them up! *virtual clapping* If your music were I type of injury what would it be? Broken leg? Paper cut? etc.
Hope that isn't too morbid or anything.

    ReplyDelete
  24. A type of injury???
    Oookay...
Huh. I guess Streetlight is... Well, the pain of feeling like you can't turn your life around because you have messed it up, for Forty Days. And OFOTG,OFITG (abbreviation) is... Well it isn't an INJURY (I want this to be italicized, not bold-ed, but as Sarah pointed out "comment"does not permit this function) OFOTG,OFITG is... Well the first words in the song kind of say that it isn't an injury actually, kind of. I really don't know what it is talking about though... It isn't an injury though: "It's in the air we breath, and it's also in the water, it's something you can't see, you have been warned of by your mothers..." I UNDERSTAND IT NOW!!! It is talking about religion itself... It is taking about how religion is kind of all around us, and we pick up a lot of it unconsciously... I have been trying to understand that for WEEKS. I guess Streetlight has had experience with religions that preach a lot but don't actually practice what they say... Hmm...
And Sarah, I am the type of person who answers all rhetorical questions, so weird is spelled w-e-i-r-d. But I don't think the lyrics are weird, I like them. I understand what it is saying kind of... Well, I didn't understand Dream Police ezactly (the computer will not let me type an... an X. Ha!!! victory at last!) XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Great, then it wouldn't let me STOP. Dumb xxxx key. XXXXX STOPX ITX!X!X!
    Help me... !
So will you listen to CT after the stretch, or did you already answer that?

  25. Hi,
Amelia I am not trying to be rude at all but when I ask the question on someone's blog I'm trying to direct it to them... If you want I can ask you the same on your page but it's just confusing when I get the answers twice. I hope that wasn't too mean or anything.... Anyways Sarah I would love to hear some of Cheap Trick. It's seems really interesting. Tell me more about it... anything you have... anything at all I want to LEARN........
    yeah.

  26. Hi. Sorry.
    Blogging is kind of addictive...

    Kind of??? ,':\

This is supposed to be a smiley face raising one eyebrow, but you can't tell. Your chicken was better.
And that wasn't rude at all Maddy, sorry. I didn't mean to confuse you or annoy you.
Sorry, I just thought it was a good question. You think of really interesting questions to ask people.
Sorry to you too, Sarah. I am kind of taking up a lot of space on your blog with meaningless rants.
