I have a suggestion for u. The song Viva la Vida is one of my favorite coldplay songs. It is not loud and annoying like other rock. It is quiet and callming.
I don't know that I have ever heard Coldplay. Actually, that isn't true. I think I have listened to Coldplay. Possibly, I have listened to a lot of Coldplay. I just have no recollection as to who they are and what music of their's I have listened to, if any. If that didn't confuse you then please try the math homework Waring assigned me when I visited. That will make your head spin in record time.
I got the album X&Y by Coldplay yesterday. I have listened to the first 2 tracks. It is relaxing but also has a touch of rock in the first song. So far I think I will like this music. It makes you calm down and think about your life.
Aaron, I'm glad you're going to listen to X&Y. That's a favorite album of mine; a very good representation of Coldplay. I like the way you describe them, too. Chris Martin (the singer) has a really calming voice; I love listening to him.
I found out that the real names of the people in the band are Chris Martin, Johny Buckland, Guy Berrymen and Will Champion. They are from England. I am going to play the song What If tomorrow for my listening example it is my favorite song so far. Listening to this album really relaxes you and makes you think about life.
The song i focused on this week is "what if". That is the one i played in class. I listened to the lyrics and the beginning is saying all the bad things that could happening in his life. The chorus and end of the song sings about that there is no point in worrying is you don't even try. when you listen to this song it makes you think of the major problem in your life at the time and all the bad things that happened because of it. This is a good song to listen to alone and contemplate what you have done wrong and all that you regret.
Hi Aaron, I've never looked closely at the lyrics of that song before. The verses are definitely about "what if" you're making a big mistake, etc . . . but I find the chorus more uplifting. He sings, "Let's try . . . take a breath, jump over the side." So to me, the song is about taking risks even though you know you could be making a mistake. I think the other side (not really mentioned) is that every step you take could also lead to something wonderful. It's interesting that the song doesn't explore that possibility much, but I guess a lot of their other songs look on the bright side, so maybe this song is a good contrast.
I watched the music video for What if by Coldplay and it was weird. It started with an old man putting a rose on his wife's grave and then it starts to rewind slowly and shows every thing he did that day in reverse. It also showed flash backs of him and his wife and the main singer singing. I guess it was good but interesting.
I am watching What If on YouTube now. It is really interesting! It is kind of making me fall asleep. Your right Hannah, his voice is really really calming. What i noticed, that is really, really interesting (and confusing) is that it is not really filmed backwards. because if it were filmed backwards, the door would open itself. Also, the way his legs bend you can tell he is walking backwards, and not walking forwards with the tape re-winded, but more importantly is the door. if you did your life backwards, the doors open themselves. because you can't open a door from the inside, when you are on the outside. the door opens, and you walk back through it, it pushing your hand, the handle turning your fingers. For some reason, i never, ever noticed this before. it is a minor epiphany. If you live your life backwards, the doors open themselves, the dead live again, and we can fly. Hmm... Maybe there is no heaven, you just live your life SDRAWKCAB eid uoy nehw. .tey daed era uoy naem t'nseod sdrawkcab siht gnidaer era uoy esuaceb tsuj :yaw eht yB
Read the first part from the top down, and when you can't understand it any more start reading from the bottom up, and right to left.
What kind of genre is Jason Mraz? Firstly, he stole my hat. Secondly, either I killed my wrists, or my wrists are killing me, as a result of spending four hours trying to play his song on my guitar. I like guitar. I love guitar. Guitar is awesome. I am in a lot of pain, and I am doing rather poorly at it, but I love it anyways.
first of all, if you're wondering i'm cadence. second of all - have you heard of a song called in my place? I really like it - its one of my favorite coldplay songs.
Today i listen to Beautiful day by U2 which is a similar genre as coldplay. It sounds similar to cold play. I think i might like them better. The way i found this song is i used pandora radio online and it creates radio stations for by you typing in an artists name and it comes up with similar sounding stuff. I would definitely recommend using pandora.com if you want similar music as your artists and it is free so no worries. Right now it is playing sitting, waiting, wishing by Jack Johnson.
I like they are one of my favorite bands, but the only problem is that alot of there songs sond the same. I like the fact that they all are calming, but I wish they would mix up there songs a little bit. I think that u2 is a simmilar genre, but they have more of a variety in there music. I hope that you are enjoying Coldplay
Hello again Virginia!!! I like u2 as well. So, anyways, to business......AARON????????? It's not to late, you can still blog. Anyways, this is what I was going to post: Coldplay's fine enough. I have a few songs by them: Clocks, The Scientist, In My Place, and Fix You. That's all I've really heard of them, besides Viva la Vida. No offense to Coldplay, but sometimes I find their songs a little...depressing, if you know what I mean. Hope you're enjoying, too!
Okay I'm posting again, if no one minds. You know that song by the Veronicas? Forgot the name, but I remember the name because the band name Veronica is rememberable. Anyway....so. For some reason the Veronicas reminds me of Coldplay. Maybe it's because both of their songs are at the top of the 100 top songs on iTunes. I don't know why. Just thought I should put that in.
I am listening to Low by Coldplay. It is decent. it is more like rock then other song by them. It is kinde of depressing like all there other songs. But, i kind of like that depressing style of music haha. It is good to listen to when you are sad. It is like adding wood to the fire haha. I am really excited for kiss concert 09 because Akon is coming again so is like every major artist in the music industry!
Okay, I don't think that Coldplay is always depressing! What about songs like Yellow & Speed on Sound?? Those are both incredibly happy. I'm a big Coldplay fan, so I feel the need to insert a little defense of them.
Aaron, listening to Pandora is SUCH a good way to add variety to the stretch project! A million points for you! (I like Pandora but often forget that it exists.) Annnnyway, I'll have to suggest that to everybody next time around.

ReplyDeleteEverything has a new meaning now...

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Maddy, but Coldplay definitely brings a calm spirit to the world of rock music. You'll hear this when you hear Aaron's example!
